A semi-ripened, matured cheese, carefully made from pasteurised cow’s milk. Its reddish-yellow surface and thin rind reveal an interior with small holes the size of peppercorns and a slightly elastic, yellowish paste.
Tilsit is distinguished by an intense aroma, developed through a process of internal and external ripening, imparted by a special lactic culture. After washing, the cheese is covered with a fine layer of wax to stabilise its rich flavours. Usually matured for 4-5 weeks,
Tilsit cheese intensifies its specific taste by prolonged maturing for up to 3 months – a perfect treat for those who prefer a strong and complex flavour.
Ingredients: pasteurised cow’s milk, rennet, selected lactic cultures, salt (max. 2%).
Product coated with a layer of wax.
Packaging: vacuum-packed.
